Hi, I’m Beverley and I’m the founder of Pack Your Passport, an award-winning travel blog dedicated to solo city breaks and personal travel essays.
When I’m not on my travels I can usually be found with my head in a book, or my face in a flat white, or planning my next adventure because, let’s be honest, travel lovers don’t sit still for long.
But, for the most part, I’m based in Leeds, the city where I went to university. I moved back to Leeds after spending three years living in London, and three years before that living, working, and travelling in Australia and New Zealand.
My favourite city in the world is Sydney. It’s the first place I ever travelled to abroad, and it will always hold a special place in my heart, I think. But I also really love Amsterdam, and Basel, and Melbourne, and Auckland, and Dublin.

More about me
In 2010, after graduating from Leeds uni with a degree in media and marketing two years earlier, I left my job at an advertising agency in Lincolnshire and moved to Australia on a working holiday visa.
I drove up the east coast in a campervan, worked on a vineyard, celebrated Christmas on Bondi beach, snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef, fell in love with living in Sydney and then felt like I was cheating on Sydney when I moved to Melbourne and loved it just as much.
Then, in 2012, I moved to New Zealand. It’s here that I found myself alone, unemployed and living in a hostel.
But I soon turned things around. I found a job, made some new friends, rented an apartment, and before I knew it I was on a road trip to Taupo, sunning myself in Raglan and drinking way too many cocktails in Wellington.
In 2013 I moved back to the UK and lived in London for 3 years before moving to Leeds in July 2016.
